I could use some support…
1. Is it safe?
Avalo is a 100% anonymous peer support platform. Users can interact with peers or chat with mental health professionals. The goal is to make it easier to open up about what’s going on in your life and build a support system.
2. Who uses Avalo?
Anyone can download Avalo. However, to be an expert you cannot Post or ask for help, you can only reply to other users. As an anonymous app user, you can reply to other users and Post (or ask for support).
3. Are you recording my data?
We record data simply to improve the platform. We will never link any of the content you discuss on Avalo to you as an identified individual. In fact, we don’t even ask for your name during sign up!
I am a mental health expert or professional…
1. What is Avalo?
At it’s core, Avalo is a client engagement and interaction tool. Think of it like blending twitter, yelp, and psychologytoday.com to make it easier for people to find you, explore your philosophy, make more informed decisions about selecting providers, and reach out when in need.
2. Is this a telehealth tool?
No, Avalo is an education and engagement platform. No interactions through the platform constitute the beginning of a provider-client relationship. Users will have to navigate to your website, email, or phone to start the relationship.
3. How do I use it?
Log in using your computer and start interacting with anonymous folks in your area! Provide support and education to those struggling and memorialize your perspective, style, and personality in a profile that’s accessible to potential new clients.
4. What do I do?
Sign up, create a profile, select your topic areas of interest, and start messaging anonymous users. The goal isn’t to promote yourself or spam the users, but to genuinely provide support and education so that your practice is more accessible to potential clients. Think of it like adding transparency to the provider-client search and match process by building an online reputation for how you work with people.
